Google Fonts

3 min readUpdated October 28, 2026

Nahnu Fonts → Google Fonts lets you browse the whole Google Fonts collection and save any family to your own server. Visitors then load your copy, never Google’s.

Browse#

  • Search by family name.
  • Filter by category: Sans serif, Serif, Display, Handwriting or Monospace.
  • Each card previews the family. Families already on your site carry an Added tag.

The list comes from your download source (Bunny Fonts by default) and is cached for one week.

The font detail view#

Click a family to open its detail view, which fills the screen without reloading the page. The address in your browser changes too, so you can bookmark or share it, and the Back button returns to the list. All fonts also takes you back.

The detail view shows:

  • A specimen you can type into (Preview text) and resize (Size).
  • Every weight and italic, previewed.
  • The Add to your site panel, or Update this font if the family is already in your library.

Add a family#

OptionWhat to choose
WeightsTick only the weights your design uses. Each weight is a file. Select all and Clear help. The counter shows how many are selected
Include italic stylesAdds an italic file for each weight you ticked
Character setsThe alphabets to include, for example Latin, Latin Extended, Cyrillic, Greek or Vietnamese. Fewer sets mean smaller files. Defaults come from Settings
Use the variable fontShown when the family has a variable version and your source is Google. One file covers every weight

Files to download sums up what will be saved. Click Add to my site. When the files are saved, the font is ready in the block editor and your page builders, and Open the font library takes you to it.

Variable fonts#

A variable font is one file that contains every weight. It’s often smaller than three or more separate weights.

Bunny Fonts serves separate weights only. To download the variable file, set Settings → Google Fonts → Download source to Google Fonts directly. The detail view says when a variable version exists. Your visitors still load only your self-hosted copy.

File format#

Google Fonts are always saved as WOFF2. It’s the smallest font format, and every browser WordPress supports can read it.

Change a font you already added#

Open the family again (it shows In your library), or click Change weights or character sets in the font’s edit panel in the Font library. Change weights, italics or character sets, and click Update font. Updating replaces its files with your new choices. Its display name, fallback, “Apply to” selectors and preloads are kept.

Re-download#

Every Google font has a Re-download button in its edit panel. It fetches fresh copies with the same weights, styles and character sets from your current download source. This is useful after moving from Jooosi Fon (where Re-download all does every font at once) or after switching your download source.
