Requirements and installation
Nahnu Fonts needs WordPress 7.1 and PHP 8.3 or newer. Install it like any plugin from a .zip file, then add your license key to get updates.

The About screen shows a “Your server” check for the font folder and the Zip extension.
Install#
- Download the plugin .zip from your account on nahnufonts.com. The file is named with its version, for example
nahnu-fonts-1.0.0.zip. - In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the .zip file and click Install Now.
- Click Activate.
The plugin installs into a folder named nahnu-fonts. Keep that name: updates are matched to it.
What happens on activation#
- The Nahnu Fonts menu is added to the admin.
- “Stop page builders loading Google Fonts” is turned on, so builders list your fonts first and never load fonts from Google. On the first activation only, a notice explains this and offers an Undo link that turns it back off.
- No fonts are added and nothing on your site changes until you add a font.
Activate your license#
Go to Nahnu Fonts → License, paste your key and click Activate license. See the License and updates post for details.
Updating#
With an active license, new versions show in Dashboard → Updates and on the Plugins screen like any other plugin. Your fonts live in the uploads folder, so updates never touch them.
Deactivating and deleting#
- Deactivate: your fonts stop loading on the site. Fonts, files and settings are kept.
- Delete: fonts, files and settings are still kept, unless you turned on Settings → Uninstall → Delete everything when the plugin is deleted first. See Stored data and uninstall in Developer for exactly what is removed.
