License and updates

2 min readUpdated October 28, 2026

Your license key turns on automatic updates for a site. Nothing else depends on it: without an active license, your fonts and settings keep working exactly as they are.

Licenses are sold and managed through the nahnufonts.com store, which runs on SureCart.

Find your license key#

  1. Log in to your account on nahnufonts.com.
  2. Open Downloads. Your key is listed with the plugin download.

The License screen has an Open my account link that takes you there.

Activate a site#

  1. Go to Nahnu Fonts → License.
  2. Paste your key into License key.
  3. Click Activate license.

The page reloads and shows an Active badge, the site’s address, and “Updates: On”. If something is wrong (a mistyped key, or no activations left), the reason is shown at the top of the screen.

If a key is already saved, you can leave the field blank to reuse it.

Get updates#

Once active, new versions appear in Dashboard → Updates and on the Plugins screen. Update with one click, or turn on WordPress auto-updates for Nahnu Fonts on the Plugins screen.

Move a license to another site#

Each site you activate uses one of your license’s activations.

  1. On the old site, go to Nahnu Fonts → License and click Deactivate license. This frees the activation. Your fonts stay as they are.
  2. On the new site, activate the same key.

You can also see and remove activations from your account on nahnufonts.com, for example for a site you no longer have access to.

Staging and local sites#

A staging or local copy is a separate site with its own address, so activating it uses an activation. If you don’t need updates there, leave it unlicensed: the plugin works the same.

What is sent#

Activating, deactivating and checking for updates send your license key and the site’s address and name to SureCart (api.surecart.com). Nothing about your visitors is ever sent, and nothing is sent before you enter a key. See Privacy and GDPR for details.
