Getting started

2 min readUpdated October 28, 2026

Add a font, then pick it in your editor. The whole thing takes about two minutes.

1. Add a Google Font#

  1. Go to Nahnu Fonts → Google Fonts.
  2. Search for a family, for example Inter, and click it. A full-width view opens with a live preview.
  3. Under Add to your site, tick the weights you need. Fewer weights mean fewer files, so pick only what your design uses (for example 400 and 700).
  4. Tick Include italic styles if you need italics.
  5. Leave Character sets at the default unless your site uses other alphabets.
  6. Click Add to my site.

The files are downloaded to your server and a message confirms the font “is now hosted on your site”.

Prefer your own files? Use Nahnu Fonts → Upload font instead. See Uploading custom fonts in Features.

2. Use it#

Pick whichever fits how you build:

  • Block editor or Site Editor: select a block, open Typography in the sidebar and choose the font. For the whole site, use Styles → Typography in the Site Editor.
  • Page builder: open the builder’s font picker. Your fonts are listed there (usually at the top). See your builder’s post under Integrations.
  • Site-wide by selector: in the Font library, click Edit on the font and enter selectors such as h1, h2, h3 in Apply to. Save, and every matching element uses the font.
  • Custom CSS: use the variable shown next to the font in the library: font-family: var(--nahnu-font-inter);

3. Fine-tune (optional)#

  • Preload your heading font. In the font’s Edit panel, tick Preload for the one or two styles shown at the top of your pages.
  • Check Settings. The defaults suit most sites: font-display: swap, Latin only, block editor and CSS variables on, page cache clearing on.
  • Activate your license in Nahnu Fonts → License to get updates.

4. Check your site#

Open a page in a private window and confirm the font shows. If it doesn’t, see FAQ and troubleshooting.

To confirm nothing loads from Google, open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, reload, and filter by fonts.g. With only self-hosted fonts, nothing should match.
